​About US

​​Kristen, Esther, Maria and Edwina, were the first Yoga teachers, Clinicians & Therapists in Australia to be officially certified to facilitate TCTSY (TCTSY-F) & to be Trainers in TCTSY, originally by the Trauma Center at JRI and then by the Center for Trauma & Embodiment at JRI, and together founded TCTSY Australia in 2016.
After completing post-graduate training with David Emerson, Kristen, Maria and Edwina have become the only Licenced TCTSY Trainers in Australasia and Supervisors on the TCTSY Certificate program to date.  TCTSY facilitators who have trained with us can be found at

Edwina Kempe - Brisbane. Edwina has a Masters of Social Work Studies, is a qualified yoga teacher and is a founding member of Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Australia. She has worked in a range of settings in the human services sector in Australia and internationally. Edwina is currently working in private practice offering counselling, individual and group TCTSY sessions, and professional supervision, as well as facilitating tailored TCTSY programs to services, schools, and organisations. Edwina believes connection to the body and breath through yoga can provide useful tools for people who have experienced trauma and can ultimately become a part of their pathway to healing. She is dedicated to offering yoga to people who can not access general yoga classes and has facilitated yoga with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, women who have experienced sexual assault, people from refugee backgrounds, returned soldiers, and people with drug and alcohol addictions. Edwina hopes to facilitate a warm, safe, and non-judgmental space in which to offer the practice of TCTSY.
Maria Jude - Hobart, Tasmania. Maria has over 30 years combined clinical experience as a Registered Nurse, Herbalist, Remedial Massage Therapist and Yoga Teacher, working in both the Australian Public Health sector as well as private practice. Over her years in practice, Maria has refined the way she supports clients to involve their body in the healing process, inspired and informed by leaders in the field of trauma theory and TCTSY. Maria is the owner/manager of Centre of Balance – Traditional Health Care and Yoga.
Kristen Pringle - Mornington & Melbourne. Kristen is an infant & parent, child, youth, and adult Mental Health Clinician, a Senior Occupational Therapist with a Masters and is a dedicated and qualified Yoga Therapist, Mindfulness teacher & practitioner. Kristen has been teaching yoga since 2002 to people of all ages & experience. Kristen works in private practice & as a University teaching associate. In private practice, Kristen is a clinician, consultant, trainer, supervisor & facilitator, specialising in yoga & mindfulness, TCTSY, developmental & complex trauma and Family Violence.
